Generative summary
- With generative summary, you can get an easy-to-read outline with headings and section-specific key points to help focus on what matters in a streamlined way. Easily find, discern, and navigate to essential information you need on demand.
Voice capabilities
- Voice in AI Assistant and PDF Spaces on Acrobat Mobile makes it easy to engage with your document, and Handsfree Voice Chat reduces that friction even further by enabling natural voice conversations without screen interaction. You can ask questions, hear responses, and interrupt as needed to ask additional questions, providing a more intuitive interaction. Handsfree support is available only on Mobile and can be accessed from AI Assistant chat panel – both for single documents and PDF Spaces.
- Additionally, users can also listen instead of read, with voice read-aloud capabilities on all surfaces including, Acrobat Desktop and Web. Read aloud with high-quality voices can be accessed from the top bar in document viewer.

How can customers access AI Assistant in Acrobat?
- Acrobat users with an individual account can access this feature in Acrobat Reader desktop and the Acrobat desktop application on both Windows and macOS, the Acrobat web application, Acrobat mobile applications (iOS and Android), and in their Acrobat Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge extensions. Which languages are supported?
Currently, AI Assistant in Acrobat supports PDFs and documents in English, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese with plans to add additional languages in future releases. AI Assistant may inadvertently provide responses in languages other than English, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese, but these go beyond the intended purpose of the AI Assistant capability and should not be relied upon at this time.
What limitations exist with AI Assistant in Acrobat?
At this time, this feature works for PDF, DOCX, PPT, TXT, RTF files and documents that meet certain criteria. Currently, it does not support the following types of files:
- Files exceeding 100MB in size per document.
- Files that contain more than 600 pages.
- Files with permissions that are configured in a way that prevents processing, such as being password-protected or having the “do not copy” permission enabled.
- Files in languages other than English, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.
How will Adobe protect customers’ documents and data when they use Acrobat’s generative AI features?
Adobe does not use customer content to train the generative AI models that deliver Acrobat features. Learn more here about Adobe’s content usage and handling practices.
What are the copyright implications of using generative AI features in Acrobat?
